Church Membership

Church membership is now due, and it’s a great way to be involved in Westbury Park Spiritualist Church. Members are able to have a say in the running of the church, and can propose motions, speak, and vote on them at the annual general meeting (AGM). Motions are a way for members to directly influence the direction of their church. Members are also able to nominate individuals to sit on the church committee, and vote for prospective committee members should a vote be required. They also provide an extra layer of scrutiny so that everyone can be sure that the church continues to be run well.

All committee members have to be members of the church to be eligible for their position, so this is another reason to join. Like all SNU churches, Westbury Park is run by its members, for its members. This is the democratic foundation of each church.

Joining as a member is also declaring that you are a Spiritualist, and that you accept the Seven Principles of Spiritualism. So as well as supporting the religion, membership is a great way to show your support, and have a closer involvement its running. Together we are stronger!

To pay your annual subscription (either to join or renew) just see our treasurer, or a member of committee when you come to church – they will be happy to help! It costs just £8.
