Re-opening Plans

A message from our Church Secretary, July 2020

Dear Member

I hope you are coping well with the strange times we are living through. Following the announcement from the Government that churches could open for services from 4th July 2020, the Church committee met, socially distancing of course, to discuss what our plans should be for our church. Taking everything into consideration, and there was a lot to consider, we decided to plan to re-open the church on Sunday 20th September.

We also decided that we would have only one service on Sunday. We know we have some people who regularly attend on Sunday morning and others who attend regularly on Sunday evening, so we agreed a compromise of having the one service at 3pm in the afternoon. Our intention is to review the situation early in September to assess what is happening with the virus. Things are changing all the time which may influence the spread of the virus, and that in turn could cause a spike in the numbers testing positive. We are sorry we cannot offer to open sooner, but we have to balance the desire to re-open with the safety and protection of our congregation and members. Nearer the time of re-opening I will contact members with confirmation of the date and time and the conditions we will have to implement in order to keep everyone safe. The Healing Team will continue with Absent Healing each Wednesday between 2pm and 3pm as we have throughout the lockdown. If you would like to be added to our list or know someone you would like to request healing for, please let me know and we will be happy to add the names to our lists. Please keep safe and well until we meet again. (We DO know where and we THINK we know when)

Best wishes on behalf of the President and Committee of Westbury Park Spiritualist Church.
